Ci si sente costantemente in attesa di qualcosa che sta irrimediabilmente per accadere seguendo gli incastri sonori cesellati da Deison nel suo nuovo lavoro pubblicato da manyfeetunder\/concrete in collaborazione con Loud!, disco che vede il suo ritorno alla dimensione solitaria dopo una serie di avvincenti collaborazioni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c8 un flusso coeso quello che informa &#8220;Any time now&#8221; rendendolo un racconto unitario diviso in sette capitoli costruiti attraverso attenti intrecci di persistenze droniche dall&#8217;incedere perentorio e ruvide modulazioni sintetiche a cui si sommano dissonanti e acute interferenze e misurati innesti ambientali. Le nervose e minimali tessiture delle due brevi tracce iniziali &#8220;Cut off&#8221; e &#8220;Blissfull moments&#8221; (che registra la collaborazione di Ennio Mazzon) proiettano in modo immediato nell&#8217;universo disturbante e gravido di mistero costruito da Deison, un immaginario che trova piena esplicazione nei paesaggi sonori definiti da &#8220;Motionless&#8221;. Intermezzate dalle trame oblique di &#8220;Sulle mie ossa&#8221;, le due parti in cui il brano \u00e8 diviso occupano, con una durata complessiva di oltre ventotto minuti, gran parte dell&#8217;album ponendosi come vero e proprio centro narrativo del lavoro, nocciolo attraverso i cui densi ed incombenti fondali irrompono a tratti le flebili e tenui melodie pianistiche di Andrea &#8220;Mingle&#8221; Gastaldello capaci di aggiungere uno straniante effetto di stridente armonia che ne accentua il costante carico di tensione emotiva. Il viaggio si chiude, dopo l&#8217;ulteriore frammento di &#8220;Tape 2&#8221;, sulle frequenze sempre granulose ma meno cupe di &#8220;The end of everything&#8221; che con la sua atmosfera distesa e avvolgente rappresenta l&#8217;ideale via di uscita verso una dimensione pi\u00f9 luminosa e accogliente.<br><br><a href=\"https:\/\/sowhatmusica.wordpress.com\/2016\/09\/13\/deison-any-time-now\/\">LINK<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>ANY TIME NOW ON A CLOSER LISTEN<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>October must be near, because our submissions are getting scarier. Case in point: Any Time Now, a foreboding set whose dark drones are shadowed by sullen electronics, crime scene samples and rattling chains. Even the most cheerful track title (&#8220;Blissfull Moments&#8221;) leads to a dreadful excursion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s all a setup for the main act: &#8220;Motionless&#8221;, which appears in two parts, separated by a short interlude. The piano player plays on, disregarding the chortles and squeals made by the frightening, legless creatures who crawl across the hotel floor. This is Deison&#8217;s hotel; he knows every inhabitant and their every predilection. While many of his works have been dark, this one goes all out. No more flirtation; this is tar and magma, fury and blood. While the album&#8217;s purported goal is &#8220;to explore the perception of time&#8221;, time is not the lead story. The front page is splattered with human horror. This being said, the album does smear time; the crime has already been committed, the sonic field littered with aural debris. As investigators debate their next move, listeners must decide if the events are taking place now or then, and if the characters have been caught in a temporal loop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The punctuation of sound effects is disorienting. A grave is dug; a television show provides narration. A winch pulls an unidentified object across the factory floor; a bored villain repeatedly hits an object just to hear it tap. There are no immediate jolts to be heard, just a slowly creeping dread. &#8220;Tape 2&#8221; is the most compact exploration of the concept, a radio dial turned back and forth while a synthesized song attempts to break forth, falling short during its final throes. Is this &#8220;The end of everything&#8221;? As sources and samples converge, the lights in the house go dark, leaving only gradations of shadow.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/acloserlisten.com\/2016\/09\/23\/deison-any-time-now\/\">LINK<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>ANY TIME NOW SU  MUSIC WON&#8217;T SAVE YOU<\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Reduce da significative esperienze collaborative (con Matteo Uggeri e Gianluca Favaron), Cristiano Deison torna a presentare in veste solista i risultati delle ricerche sonore condotte nell&#8217;ultimo triennio, come sempre lavorando &#8220;sul campo&#8221;.
